Responsibilities

• Provide legal support for AWEM on a range of corporate and commercial matters, including contract drafting, reviewing, modifying, negotiation and transactions.
• Provide legal advice and assistance in relation to commercial, daily operations as well as corporate governance matters for AWEM.
• Handle or assist in dealing with legal disputes and litigation cases of AWEM, provide risk evaluation advice to management and dispute resolution.
• Identify potential legal risks associated with business activities and provide strategies to mitigate those risks.
• Support AWEM on corporate matters and internal policies, including legal advice on data protection and privacy matters to internal and external stakeholders.
• Assist in ad-hoc assignments and operational legal matters.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Law or above are highly preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant legal experience with preferable 5 years in supervisory level in-house experience. Previous experience in MICE is preferred but not essential.
• Experience in Chinese legal system is highly valued and familiarity with other Asian countries is also welcomed.
• Able to prioritise work effectively under pressure, adhere to deadlines whilst maintaining accuracy and being attentive to details.
• Outgoing and pleasant personality with the ability to foster good working relationships with colleagues in different departments throughout AWEM and external parties.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Chinese word processing.
• Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese, and Mandarin is a plus.
